Sierra South opened its first online River Store in 1997, so you can shop online at your convenience and with confidence. We carry boats, paddling gear, sale items, and more on the online store & boat barn. Our customer service line is well-manned by paddlers and outdoor enthusiasts, who are here to answer any questions you may have.

Since founding Sierra South in 1985, our mountain and paddle sports store has grown from a small shop to one of the largest specialty whitewater stores in California. Our brick-and-mortar outfitter’s store is centrally located, 3 hours from LA, in the river town of Kernville. With a view of the Kern River from our deck, our store offers a great selection of whitewater boats and gear, as well as quality clothing, sandals, river shoes, swimsuits, surf shorts, hats, sunglasses, souvenirs, T-shirts, kids clothing, and more.

Our store maintains a year-round presence on the Kern River in Kernville, providing knowledge of the river and the area. We live in the area and truly enjoy what we do.  We would love to share it with you. It’s good for your soul!
